Even though I have been disappointed by Vindo Co-ops failure to give us title deeds, I suggest another co-op
be started by Wadawida to buy this land. The man needs Ksh 500 Million, that is, 500,000,000.00. This land is costly
since it is about 100,000 per acre.

I would like the MP's to intervene and get this land sold for 10,000 per acre, or the nearest real market price of land around Voi. Then mobilize Wadawida to buy this land and get it into the hands of Taitas and those related to them by marriage. Do not let this land be bought by outsiders. Since we bought our Vindo plots in 1986, a new generation of Taita men and women have grown and will
be able to buy these plots. The Agricultural Finance Corporation...AFC....also provides loans for land purchase.

Let us not lose this piece of Taita. Start planning and mobilize as many people as possible. We elders may even buy for our kids.

You know I thought that more Taitas would care to know that this Voi Sisal estate is up for sale and mobilize each other to get it into the hands of Taitas. I must say that I am disappointed that forum members do not see the ramifications of more Taita land being taken by outsiders. The current owner got Voi town to smell like rotten eggs for many years........can't we do better? Anyway, I am glad that one member of this forum will be presenting this issue to a meeting with the Taita MP's a few days from now. Do not wait to lament again in future, saying that foreigners are surrounding us...........do something now. If we do it together, that Ksh 500 Million is not that much. Who knows the price may go down further.
